Established in 1845 when it was hived off from Kingwood Township, Franklin is composed of two villages– Quakertown and Pittstown—and nine hamlets: Allen’s Corner, Cherryville, Grandin, Kingtown, Landsdown, Littletown, Oak Grove, Sidney, and Sunnyside. Some had different names at earlier times.
